An effective inhibitor for minimizing unwanted metal dissolution , acid consumption and pollution during picking of steels in Hydrochloric/Sulphuric acid baths. METAGUARD has been developed for continuous and batch pickling lines of steel. The addition of METAGUARD ensures reduction in undesired metal loss, acid consumption and pollution providing bright and smooth surface without hampering the line speed. This product is formulated by using cationic and nonionic surfactants, foamers and polymeric amines. It is versatile in use and can be used for medium to ultra low carbon steels and temperature ranges of room to 900 C. It has excellent tolerance for salt accumulation and acid strength in the pickling baths.
