GALVA-DEGREA is an acid based degreaser formulated by using ionic and non-ionic surface active agents blended in low pH solution. Unlike alkaline degreasers which are principally based on caustic and silicates, GALVA-DEGREA functions by saponifying oils / greases in acidic solution. The bath of GALVA-DEGREA is low surface tension acidic solution which degreases as well as losens scale/rust on the steel surface. A proper blend of non ionic/ cationic surface active agents, emulsifiers, hydrogen depolarizers, corrosion inhibitors and sequestering agents effectively emulsifies oil and greases from the surface of steel articles. A 5- 10% blending of this product in 10 to 15% of hydrochloric/ sulphuric/ phosphoric acid solutions perform excellently even at room temperature.
Application of GALVA-DEGREA:
A bath of 2.5 to 10% (V/V) of GALVA-DEGREA should be blended with either hydrochloric, sulphuric acid or phosphoric acid solution (7 - 10% W/V of the acid). The dosing of GALVA-DEGREA is determined by the atmospheric temperature and degree of oil/greases present on the surface. It is advised that in winter seasons the concentration of GALVA-DEGREA should be maintained at about 10% of the bath solution. After degreasing, the job may be taken directly to pickling bath.

Replenishment and discharge of bath:
Depending upon the oil on the surface of steel articles and its quantity, the emulsion level in the bath increases with time. The oil in the emulsion should be checked weekly and once it exceeds 1.5-2.5%, the bath should be neutralized with lime before its discharge.

Precautions in handling:
GALVA-DEGREA is acidic in nature and normal precautions are required as applicable for handling of acids.
